Salt and Light of the World *Kristin teaches on 11/13

We’re putting a magnifying glass on Matthew 5:13-16.
Just after the beatitudes, Jesus tells us we are the salt and the light of the world.

First the Lord tells us, “You are the salt of the earth.”
What does that mean? How is a person salt? Lets recognize the three main uses of salt: to preserve, to purify, and to add flavor. Thus, we are to preserve, purify, and exist as the flavor of Christ in the world.

Following this he says, “you are the light of the world.”
We are the light, as He is the light and lives in us. We bring light into a situation, exposing and prevailing over darkness. Light also provides a way out of darkness-- Jesus!

I have a general affect on people simply by the way that I live my life.  Once I have this effect-I am able to speak and to teach, and be light.

Christians living out the core values, the beatitudes, will cause the world to be purified.
It’s contagious.  It’ll expand to others.

Family Fun Fall Festival

The Family Fun Fall Festival was a great time! This was the first year the student ministry and the children's ministry partnered together for the Fall Festival. The students did a great job loving on the kids and enthusiastically serving. Thank you to all the youth for being there and working hard! You made this great night possible.
