Wacky Water Wednesday!

Hey ya'll! I'm sorry for the tardiness of tonight's post - Water Under the Stars was a great hit and has kept us in the Printing Press Crew up late!

WEDNESDAY of camp has by far been the best. Peter the Pet Puffin has been found! Dutch is this year's camp celebrity to say the very least! Tonight shaped up to be a beautiful night to enjoy some inflatable water slides (pictures to follow tomorrow) and a pool party beyond all pool parties.

At the pool party Adair Lyden really took home the gold in the diving board competitions. James Sheally tried hard to get a ten but never quite lived up to the task! Ashley Gillam and Hannah Tanner stand out as the evenings tough judges, only awarding a biased perfect ten to favorite Brooks Gillam.

Fritchman has really connected with the students in the evening worship services and even beyond that has made an impact just hanging around camp. We're blessed to spend time with him this week.

Please continue to pray at home 'cause it matters, it counts, and we can't do anything apart from Jesus anyway.

HAPPY FOURTH YA'LL!

Stay in the Loop!

Hi friends!  We are trying our best to keep you in the loop at home.  We update the blog each night with highlights.  We are currently posting pictures and the slide shows that we are showing every morning to our Summer Camp Facebook page.  We are tweeting as we go.

We know y'all love to see what the Lord is doing and stay connected.  We want to honor this, so we are trying our best!  We apologize that we have not been able to have a livefeed this year, but we do not have the capabilities or the know-how this year.

Y'all are awesome and we are thankful for the way that we know you are covering us in prayer!!!

Thrive 2012 Morning Thing & Obstacle Course!

Monday!

Last Night's obstacle course was great fun by all!

Our day at camp kicked off with the Prayer Room which is open at 6am every morning. Personally, it's my favorite part of camp. It's a great way to start the day and really just ask the Lord to prepare you for the day!

Dutch TeBeest is really making a name for himself this year at camp and I'm not just referring to his full size name tag. You're looking at this year's Newspaper headline, Aquadancing extroirdinaire, and all around blessing to all who meet him. And I believe a Flamingo during Morning Thing!

Cool Beans certainly did not look like this when I stopped in around 2:45pm. A camp staple we all enjoy are the smoothies and fraps to be enjoyed in the 90's second favorite chair. The first of course being the inflatable chairs... you know.

Cultivate! The bookstore this year is loaded with an all star line up my favorite being Passion for Jesus. I said it last night and I'll say it again: Camp is nothing without Jesus. Knowing Him is what we're here for!

"Hydration Stations" have been crucial to #thrive2012

Tonight's evening activity was the DISNEY DANCE! We saw some great costumes - Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum showed up! Peter pan, Belle, and Jack Sparrow were all over the place! We even were blessed enough with Christopher Robin and the Winnie the Pooh Gang!

The cutest Disney couple award I think can agreeably be given to Timothy and Harvest! They were also pretty good at the robot...

All in all the first full day of camp is going well! The theme of camp this year is Thrive. We're really focusing our hearts, conversations, and attitudes on what it means to thrive with the Lord. To move beyond being good or knowing him but how do we live a life where we can say we're doing better than the best and we're entirely confident that we're exactly where we're supposed to be! Ya heard!
Holla at us! The videos are being very tempermental today but I promise I'll have a friend look at it to get some up tomorrow in lieu of the live feed (much apologies).

Your prayers are heard. You can move the heart of God with your voice. He turns to you. So please, pray. Pray for summer camp. Pray so that we might know Jesus more.

We're Back! #thrive2012

It's here! #Thrive2012 is trending on twitter and we're excited it's finally here! Yours truly is here to keep you folks watching at home in touch with what's going on down here in Covington, GA! So stay tuned this week for all the latest pictures, updates, poems, comics, and if you ask nicely maybe even a video or two.

Things are off to a great start this year! A HUGE shout out goes to all who arrived at camp Saturday morning to help get things rollin! And double thanks to all the people that made it to load the uhaul in RECORD TIMING! Thank you for all you do!

Tonight at our worship service we welcomed Mark Fritchman and his family back to camp as the speaker for the week. Mark is able to share with us how camp has impacted his life in every capacity, as he shared with us this evening, from his encounter with Jim Cagle as a rising 7th grader to the Tick Check announcement as a youth pastor. People watching at home we invite you and ask for you to be praying for Mark as he speaks, the Office Staff as they administrate, the Counselors & Cabin Leaders as they minister, the Leadership Team as they steward, Activities Director as he leads, Coffee House as they serve, the Worship Team as they usher us into the Lord's Presence, Christi Holland as she's good to us, and the Tech Team as they keep everything working!

We count it all as lost without a revelation of Jesus.

We've fixed our minor blogging issue (blogs were showing up here instead of our Costa Rica blog). You'll want to follow all of our adventures over on our Costa Rica blog!

We're Here!!!

We're here and doing well! Travel was smooth and the team is doing great!

Tomorrow we spend our morning at the children's home. The boys have a special day planned to teach the armor of God. The girls have an awesome princess day planned. We've already met as a team and we are now in our groups practicing for tomorrow.

We have two more team mates traveling here tomorrow. Please pray for their safe travel.

We'll head to bed soon since it is after midnight back home. We've already fallen in love with our home away from home!

To close, here's just a few pictures of the beautiful sunset we watched tonight!!
